Today’s Embarrassing Moment: I’m walking by the Boloco on Boston Common, and a panhandler asks me for some cash. Now seeing as I was laid off recently and steal toilet paper from public locations, I had none on me. I did, however, have some change, so I reached into my wallet and said “Um, I have some change.” He’s like, okay that’s good. I grab a handful, and put it in the cup. As I leave, i hear him speaking and I turn around, and he throws the cup full of pennies at my face. Oh no you didn’t. I was about to bring out the bitch, but I was like, self control, Megan! So I go into Boloco to grab a bite, and the tender souls in there felt sorry for me and gave me a peanut butter smoothie FOR FREE. So nice.
Later, I’m walking back home and I stop to chat with my #1 panhandler main man, Mikey, (he’s on here a few pages back) who works the corner of Beacon and Charles St. (right at the big Starbucks). He was so pissed for me, he tried to get me to go back over to Boloco with him so he could “kick that guy’s ass!” I told him it’s alright, no need to do any ass-kicking…but I appreciated the offer!
